02/16/2007 - West Lafayette, IN (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - David Teague had a career-high 32 points, including 6-of-8 from long distance, and grabbed seven rebounds, as the Purdue Boilermakers bested the 24th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers, 81-68, in the 190th meeting between the intrastate rivals at Mackey Arena.
The game was supposed to take place on Wednesday, but inclement weather pushed the game back a day.
Carl Landry added 22 points and 11 boards while Tarrance Crump netted 13 for the Boilermakers (17-9, 6-6 Big Ten), who have won three of their last four contests.
Purdue snapped a five-game losing streak to Indiana.
D.J. White poured in 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Armon Bassett donated 16 for the Hoosiers (17-7, 7-4), who have lost two of their last three games. Roderick Wilmont scored 15 in the setback.
Landry's three-point play extended the margin to 45-40, but Indiana tallied 10 of the next 13 points, ending with Bassett's trey, as the Hoosiers took a slim 50-48 lead.
Purdue fought back with a 18-6 streak, including 10 points from Teague and six from Landry, moving back in front 66-56 with under seven minutes to play.
The Hoosiers then scored four straight to pull within six, but that was as close as they would get.
Chris Lutz then drained a three and Chris Kramer followed with a pair from the line to push the lead to 11, 71-60, with nearly five minutes remaining.
White's jumper tied the game, 8-8, but Purdue countered with a 15-4 run, which began with Landry's jumper. Teague, who scored 11 points during the surge, capped the burst with a trey for a 23-12 lead.
However, the Hoosiers responded with a 14-5 rally, highlighted by White's three-point play, narrowing the gap to 28-26.
The Boilermakers led 34-32 at the break.
