Thrashers put Rucchin on IR

02/22/2007 - Atlanta, GA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Atlanta Thrashers placed forward Steve Rucchin on injured reserve Thursday with an upper body injury.

Rucchin has missed the last five games after injuring his head on February 8 in a game against the Colorado Avalanche.

The 35-year-old Rucchin has tallied five goals and 16 assists in his first season in Atlanta. He signed with the Thrashers as a free agent last offseason.

In 735 career games with Anaheim, the New York Rangers and Atlanta, Rucchin has 171 goals to go along with 318 assists.

In a corresponding roster move, the Thrashers recalled forward Derek MacKenzie from Chicago of the American Hockey League.
